1. A selfie is a picture that you take of yourself on your phone or your own camera. Basically a selfie is taken by yourself.

2. To take a selfie you usually use the front facing camera on your cell phone and take like 50 pictures with different faces. You have to put your arm out in front of you to hold the camera and pose.

3. The charactersistics of a selfie are putting your arm out to hold the camera and sometimes you tilt your head, sometimes you smile or make dumb faces. Some girls like to make kissy faces in their selfies.

Part 1!

Part 2!

1. This image is a portrait because it was taken professionally and is a more advanced version of a selfie.

2. The characteristics of a portrait are that they are either of the persons face or ther entire body. They are meant to be able to show the emotion and mood of the subject.

3. A portrait is a piece of art because all types of photography are art. Portrait photography captures moods and motions of a person and makes them look amazing.

Part 3!

1-3. What is similar about the two images? Explain.

What is similar about the two images is that they sort of pose the same. In the first set Demi isn't wearing a hat. The second set Miley is posing for the camera.  They aren't wearing the same clothes in either one. The background and color are different too. They both pose different well just a little their hands are placed differently in both images.

4. Does it matter if the subject is not posed the same way? Is one way better than the other? Why or why not? Explain.

I don't think it matters how they pose in their pictures because either way they'll still look semi the same. I like they way they both posed in their pictures.

5. What characteristics make up a selfie? Explain.

The charactersistics of a selfie are putting your arm out to hold the camera and sometimes you tilt your head, sometimes you smile or make dumb faces.

6. How do the selfie characteristics compare or differ from a portrait? Or vise versa? Explain.

Because a portrait is a piece of art because all types of photography are art. Portrait photography captures moods and motions of a person and makes them look amazing.

7. Which one (image) does society value more? Why do you think that? Explain.

Now days society values a selfie because it a picture of you doing whatever you do. It kind of explains you as a person w/o the words.

8. Which image selfie or portrait would you consider art? Why? Explain.

I consider a portrait to be art because all types of photography is art. It catches moods and emotions from a certain person.

9. Why is a selfie considered a lower form of imagery when next to a portrait or should it be? Is it because one is taken by on self while the other is taken by a professional photographer/artist? Explain.

Because the way people make themselves look in images. A photographer has the people pose to catch certan feeling. While in a selfie people are like whatever face.

Part 4!

1-2. What is similar about these two selfies? Explain.

What is similar about my the two selfies is the way the lips are. Its like the duck lip pose. The next set of selfies the way she is sitting the car. I just aint looking the other way with my eyes and i have bangs in my face. The first set of selfies im sitting in car ans i aint wearing red lipstick. I also have glasses and neither of these girls do.

3. Is your selfie imitating the famous persons selfie? Why or why not? Explain.

In a few ways my selfie game is on point. I didnt take a selfie doing exactly the way they did. I found selfies i had tooken and seen how similar they were and used it.

4. Where does it look like each selfie was taken? Why do you think it was taken there? Explain.

The first selfie was taken in a house, a room, probably her house in her living room or something to that extent. The second selfie was taken in the car. I say this because you can see the seats and its outside.

5. Do selfies have to be taken in a special location? Why or why not? Explain.

No... Selfies are taken wherever you feel like taking a selfie. You could be in the bathroom and feel the need to take selfie and it would be just fine and socially accepteable. Nobody cares about your location unless its involved in your selfie.

6. Why do you think we see Selfies so often being taken in a bathroom or in front of a mirror? Explain.

Because those are easy places to take selfies in peace. When you take a selfie in the mirror you can get more of your body so people can see what you're wearing or whatever you want them to see. They are also jut the most common place to take them. Mirror selfies are als very helpful in the selfie olympics.

Part 5!

1-4. What is similar about the two images? Explain.

What is smiliar about the 2 images is that their both black and white. The both are sort of posing is the same position  but J.B has both his arms are up in his face. The both pose straight looking forward but they have different face expressions. I dont think it matters if they pose the same way because they were taken at a different point in time. I think both thier poses look good on them.

5. How do the selfie characteristics compare or differ from a portrait? Or vise versa? Explain.

With a selfie you pose however you like with silly faces, duck lips, tounge sticking out, etc. In a portrait the photographer tells you what pose to do and what kind of face expressions you need to have.

6. Which one (image) does society value more? Why do you think that? Explain.

Probably the one of JB because he's well known everywhere and he's younger and more in "style."

7. Which image selfie or portrait would you consider art? Why? Explain.

i consider the first one art because the way it was tooken, how the man is dressed, and how old the image is.

1-7. What is similar about the two images? Explain.

The thing that is the same about the two images is they are both head shots and they both seem to be posing in the pictures. They don't pose the same way but i think the second pose is more popluar today instead of boring old face expressions and a serious look on your face. I think it sort of does matter that they don't pose the same way because the first picture is worth more money because of the age and how they even got it to be in color. The selfie characteristics of a selfie is however you want to pose and a portrait is more serious and how the person wants you to pose.

I consider the first one art because back then that image is something everyone wanted. You don't see pictures like that anymore so its worth a lot. How the picture was taken has a lot to do with it to. You can get thousands of pictures of Rihiana now days so its not art or that big of a deal.
